Médecins Sans Frontières presented its 2025 activity report during a press conference held on 23 June 2026 at the Hôtel Oubangui in Bangui. The organization detailed its medical operations and financial contributions within the Central African Republic throughout the previous year.

Médecins Sans Frontières invested 42.5 billion CFA francs in the country during 2025 to support various health initiatives. Within this total expenditure, 2.8 billion CFA francs were specifically allocated to the modernization of health infrastructures. These funds aimed to improve medical facilities and service delivery for local populations. The report outlines the scope of these investments as part of the ongoing presence of Médecins Sans Frontières in the region.

Broad Healthcare Service Delivery

Médecins Sans Frontières recorded 527,194 ambulatory consultations and 63,405 hospitalizations across its facilities during 2025. Medical teams also assisted 22,591 births throughout the year, with 5,500 of these deliveries occurring at the Hôpital communautaire de Bangui.

Vaccination and Disease Treatment

Médecins Sans Frontières teams vaccinated nearly 600,000 children against measles, meningitis, and yellow fever throughout 2025. This figure represents a 143% increase in vaccination coverage compared to the 2024 records.

Medical staff also addressed high rates of endemic disease, treating 237,000 patients for malaria during the same period. These efforts formed a core component of the organization's disease control operations in Centrafrique.

Regarding the management of chronic conditions, Médecins Sans Frontières provided antiretroviral treatments to 9,000 people living with HIV in 2025. These medical interventions were part of the broader strategy to stabilize health outcomes for local populations across the country.

Addressing Specialized Health Needs

Médecins Sans Frontières addressed critical nutritional needs by treating 4,500 children for severe acute malnutrition during 2025. This figure marks a 22.5% increase in the number of cases managed by the organization compared to the previous year.

Mental health services also formed a significant component of the medical support provided to the population. During 2025, Médecins Sans Frontières delivered psychological care and mental health support to 25,000 people across its operational sites.

In addition to nutritional and psychological interventions, the organization provided specialized assistance to survivors of sexual violence. Medical and social support teams accompanied 3,380 survivors of sexual violence throughout the year. These interventions were designed to provide full care for individuals affected by such trauma as part of the broader medical mission of Médecins Sans Frontières in Centrafrique.
